Love at first sight?

So Catherine, I am taking the liberty of starting the next discussion. Why is it that Edward and Bella's relationship goes from non-existent, to super close, almost literally, overnight? So was it love at first sight? Or just lust (perhaps bloodlust on Edward's part)?

  1. I'd like to know that too. Let's break this down.
Bella: This guy is cute, maybe he'll notice me. PAUSE. That's not love, that's a crush.

Edward: That girl's pretty and different, but i can't be with her because I want to eat off her face right now.
PAUSE. ...That's not even a crush.

    Months go by. Relationship develops.
Actually, no. Bella started school in Feburary or March. So maybe three months together? For real? Sigh. Never mind.

    Relationship goes like this.
Bella: Crush, intrigue, intense commitment, carelessness, intensely careless commitmenttheend.

Edward: Bloodlust, intrigue, slight buddies, intesnse commitment, intense protection, rejectiontobeingavampiretheend.

I don't see the part where they fell in love. They just started saying it. They weren't even friends. Edward was just a gentleman.

Darn him and his crooked smile and liquid topaz eyes!

I still think he married her for her blood!

  2. My thoughts exactly! It's like Romeo and Juliet, 'in love' overnight. That doesn't happen. Chemistry? Sure. Crush? Maybe. Love? Definitely not. Their relationship has no foundation. Case closed.
